ello ello ello :)
so as you can tell ive been busy today uploading a few pictures onto here to share with you. It takes absaloutely forever to do this (about 1 minute per photo, which really does add up)
right so ive got about 15 minutes to fill you in on the last couple of days.
We popped into subway (as usual) the other day to get our treat, of sandwich and two orange pekoes! When our friend from subway popped over and introduced us to his family; his young son and daughter called megan & alexander. And his wife Karen. It was soo sweet, and he very kindly offered us round to his house for tea one day. So it lookslike we have made some new friends!
Most people here do seem really nice and are really interested in what you have to say. Which reminds me of the time when we were wondering around calgery, map in hand, probably looking very lost (trying to find our way back to Agnes') when this great big fire truck pulls up next to us, blocking off a whole lane of very patient traffic just to ask if we needed any help finding our way. This was very much appreciated and got us back on track : )
very kind.
Yesterday was and awesome day.. I headed up to the hill alone as jess was starting to feel the strain of getting back into snowboarding again. Got a ride up with a guy called scott. We spoke about England (our dislike for London) and thyen about scotland where he has most of his family. He was a cool guy and dropped me right by the slopes before he wwent to park! I took the lift up (saying hello to maddie, an english liftie who me and jess know through ku) then took the motherlode lift (which is another unbelivably hard lift to master exiting from) and which knocked me on my face for not paying enough attention. Much to the amusement of a few fellow boarders.
The view from the top of Granite mountain is spactacular. It really was like landing on the moon. All the trees were no longer trees, but tall ice and snow sculptures. To the left i could see mount roberts (where the freeride competition was well underway) and behind that the sky was a brilliant red as the sun was begining to set.
I strapped in my bindings (feeling abit nervous about how few people i saw) then headed down an easy run called Rhino's end. It was absaloutley awesome, with some real steep terrain to say it was a green! And i managaed to get some real speed up. However after about 10 minutes of non-stop boarding my feet and legs were burning! Once at the bottom i did it all again then headed home.
Getting home was soo lovely because little Jessie had made us some really nice dinner, done all the washing and tidied up.. (not really a fair swap i know)
I showed off my new Red mountain hoody Then we went out to see the parade then back home to sleepy bies.
Today we got up and have been out to the winter festival, seeing our aussie friends again who didnt recognise us at first without all our gear on and me with my new hair. They were going up to see the pond hockey.
Whilst we enjoyed two hot dogs, a maple pancake and hot chocolate (not forgetting a cup of lovely earl grey to wash it down with!)
Now i really am up for time. (getting a tut from the library assistant)
So i must leave. We are off to cafe books now to read our books and have some more tea. Then tomorrow its back to work for Danny & Jess at the horrid shop :( lol but its not all bad.
I do like shovelling snow. And disobaying where i have been told to throw the copious amount of dog turds i have to deal with and throwing them at Angelas signs! Muhahaha..
Small victories!
Anyway comrades i bid you farewell untill next time!
