There's no business like SNOW business!

Today i saw a big poster advertising Red mountain, it had a pair of snow goggles with a snorkle attached which said "Red Mountain. Stupid deep." Until today we hadn't really seen much to go by, but now i know that this IS the place to be for deep snow!

Today was there best day by far since we arrived. We got up earlier and headed up to the slopes getting a ride with Tom a really nice local chap who was a boarder! Really rare for someone older. He was really nice and dropped us right next to the lifts before going off the park his car!

Today we managed a total of five runs! the most we have had. Jess did soo well even getting the difficult getting of the lift!

[Just had to stop typing for a minute while we spoke to a chap called Roth and his girlfriend (also) Jessica. He was heading out of the library and decided to introduce himself to us! Haha, some people are just soo friendly and want to talk to you, its strange to get used to.

Anywho i digest...

On a sadder note, since we have been here there have been three people killed on the slope. Really hits home about what you're doing and to take real care.

Today Jess' boarding just clicked and she linked her turns soo nicely!
Again the pistes were soo quiet and perfect snow conditions.. I took advantage of this and tested out a few little ollies on the humps of the banking, such amazing fun from such little things! But i over cooked one of them leaving the nose down too much, catching it and heading face first downwards. It was the worst crash ive had, leaving me with laughing at myself and a headache.

Also today ive seen the funniest thing i think i ever have or will see. I was watching Jess coming down a pretty steep part of the run and she very bravely tried a turn which didnt quite work out leaving her sat down on her board horizontally down the mountain ( the way you learn to heel slip).
She then (still in her sitting position) started sliding very quickly down hill. I didnt even realise that you could slip soo fast with your board horizontal!
It was amazingly funny to see, but as you can see, harder to describe!

We had a bite to eat up in the lodge then had another run down then came home.

Then we made a trip very wearily down to Rossland harware store to purchase our very own kettle! ( At this point its worth mentioning that Century 21, the people we rent from havent sorted us out with a kettle, dvd player and most importnatly, a BED! As we were promised to begin with)
We got our ''Toastess 3000'' home, very proudly plugged it in, set it to boil and waited... and waited.. and waited. 15 minutes later realising we had managed to purchase the slowest most primative kettle ever designed! Honestly, if the world record books here about this we will be in it for sure!

After this, we popped across the road (literally) to cafe books, our new favourite hide out. And saw Martina who works there and who we also work with at angela's. We sat and drank our Americano coffee's and chatted about how good the day was and how we finally feel settled.
After an hour and a half (our books untouched) we came to the library and thats where we are upo now!

Just replied to an email from brother matthew, he's still got this captain crazy idea of heading to Fernie before here but i can understand it more now its just one day!! : ) We can't wait for little James and little matthew to arrive and see our lovely little town and mountain!

Anywhoo, its that time again.

Bye for now... ayyy!

: )
